Facilitation & Curriculum
Facilitation is a skillset that takes training and practice.
Trained facilitators know how to prepare relevant class material, create a structured outline that is designed to take participants through an experiential learning journey, efficiently manage time for groups, be in service to the higher vision of the working group and mediate and honor the power of generative conflict.
My origin story into becoming a facilitator…
In 2014 I graduated from the International Youth Initiative Program (YIP), a social entrepreneurship program based in Sweden. As a participant, I had the opportunity to learn directly from incredible speakers and facilitators like Orland Bishop, Kiara Nagel, Edgard Gouveia Júnior, Charles Eisenstein, and the founders of the Art of Hosting.
Through YIP I received in-depth training in interpersonal communication, community building across cultural and linguistic boundaries, project development, holistic education and large group facilitation. Over the last seven years, I have continued to hone and practice these skills through studying methodologies like The Work That Reconnects, directly from elder Joanna Macy. My style of facilitation has also been strongly influenced by the Wildfire Project (particularly that of their ED Joshua Khan Russell), Direct Education, which is the work of George Lakey, and the organization Training for Change.
My skill set as a facilitator is an ever evolving and growing toolkit that I draw on when putting together class outlines and curriculum. I am practiced in delivering material in person and online on a variety of topics and for different group sizes.
My facilitation is available for hire through:
Hiring me to facilitate a class or training on a subject of your choice
The creation of content & curriculum for a class or training you are designing
Me supporting you in leaning into facilitating a class or training you are designing
Earth Is ‘Ohana
Earth Is `Ohana is a project I started as an adaptable environmental educational framework exploring the question, “How do we practice returning home to our landscapes in order to regenerate our relationship with the earth?”
These classes are a primer on Spiritual Ecology and resilience thinking and are an invitation into earth stewardship fostered through connection with self and the land we call home.
Over the last four years I have offered Earth Is `Ohana in a variety of settings and forms, for all different types of people.
I have also received many requests to facilitate and offer trainings on other themes such as:
Matriarchy
Social Justice
Climate Justice
Writing & Pitching
Ethical Storytelling
Collective Liberation
Reflections on Digital Life
I welcome
Diversity of age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, faith/spirituality, racial identity and culture.
Anyone looking to step into or refine their contribution on Earth today.
Those curious to develop new narratives for environmental, social and racial justice.
Those who are seeking a more balanced way of change making, including spiritual individuals seeking to become more active and activists wanting to explore more spiritual approaches
